FSUE EDB Fakel, which is a part of the State Corporation Roscosmos, took part in the 4th Open regional competition called Young professionals WorldSkills Russia – 2020. The competition was held from 3rd to 7th of February in the Kaliningrad region.
This year, apart from the competitors from the Kaliningrad region, young professionals from the Moscow region and the Leningrad region and also from the Republic of Tatarstan took part in the competition. The total number of competitors included 330 students and schoolchildren in 44 spheres of competence in 12 professional education organizations. The skills competition was organized by 420 experts.
The practical program included a series of project-based workshops. Master classes were held in various professional spheres – from advertisement technologies to the hairdressing, as well as intellectual quests and games. The competitors, who finished in the 1st places in the region, have advanced to the next level of the WorldSkills Russia to compete against the best young specialists from the North-Western area of the country.
The winners award ceremony took place on 7th of February at Kaliningrad stadium. FSUE EDB Fakel was represented by the chief technologist Alexey Nasedkin, deputy director for personnel Pyotr Dyaduychenko and the leading specialist of the human resources department Natalia Shakhova. They awarded the competitors in the nomination called “Works on machines with programmed numerical control”.
EDB Fakel chief technologist Alexey Nasedkin noted: “The WorldSkills Russia becomes even today a center for professional training, re-training and improvement of professional skills for labor forces. It enables set up not only a base of educational materials for teaching contemporary production professions but also contribute for introducing the best domestic and international practices for labor forces training. We do a system work on the youth professional guidance and, of course, we welcome all young people to the experimental design bureau Fakel”.
The social and human resources policy of EDB Fakel is aimed at attracting young specialists into this industry. It also includes outreach activities both with senior class schoolchildren and higher education graduates to heighten the younger generation’s interest in the space topics.
Excursions are regularly organized at Fakel premises in frames of professional guidance for schoolchildren, students of the industry’s educational institutes, employer sponsored students, trainees and learners of Kaliningrad-located Quantorium. Co-operation and training activities for specialists are in progress between EDB Fakel and the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University, Moscow Aviation Institute, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University, Baltic Shipbuilding Technical School, Tomsk Polytechnic University, Samara State Aerospace University, Kaliningrad Art and Industry Technical School and Gusev Polytechnic School.
FSUE EDB Fakel (a part of the State Corporation Roscosmos) is one of the leading enterprises in development of electric propulsion systems and thermal catalytic propulsion systems operating using Hydrazine. Fakel has a production experience in serial and mass delivery of thrusters both in commercial and state market segments. The share of the thrusters production in the world for spacecraft is about 10%. ROSCOSMOS is the state corporation established in August 2015 for a comprehensive reform of the rocket and space industry of Russia. ROSCOSMOS ensures performance of the state policy in space industry and normative regulation. ROSCOSMOS also places orders for development, production and delivery of space hardware and space infrastructural objects. Also, one of its functions is to develop international co-operation in space industry and provide conditions to use the results of the space activities for a social and economic progress of Russia.
WorldSkills Hi-Tech — is a competition of professional skills, in accordance with WorldSkills standards, among the production workers of Russian production enterprises. This is the largest-scale competition in Russia in high-technology industries. The event is oriented at professional skills and workmanship improvement for young workers under 28 and for professional guidance for 10-17 year-old juniors at the educational institutions supported by the largest Russian enterprises. Since 2014 WorldSkills Hi-Tech has been held in Yekaterinburg.
